My Approach

As a therapist my goal is to provide clients with a sense of relief that things can get better no matter what your circumstances or mental health diagnosis. I offer a warm, safe environment to all my clients through my ability to be approachable, kind, and authentic throughout the entire therapy process.  I am here to listen and work together with you to figure out how you can make your life more fulfilling, joyful and allow you to be more comfortable in your own skin.
My style of therapy draws from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral approach.  Cognitive therapy explores the connection between thoughts, feelings and behavior and how facilitating change in one, can affect change and growth in the others. I also incorporate  Attachment Theory  which looks at the relationship between a person and their primary caretaker in childhood, and how that influences you currently as an adult.
Ultimately I like to tailor therapy to each individual’s specific needs and believe the therapist/client relationship is key to success in therapy so I will work collaboratively with clients to assess what style of therapy would be most appropriate.
I specialize in working with adults of all ages to process challenges  that accompany life transitions, relationship and marriage conflict, divorce, co parenting, career changes, negative body image, weight loss struggles and the processing of recent or past traumatic events.  I also have a passion for working with mothers through the postnatal period and have training in treating postpartum anxiety and mood disorders.  I also realize it may not be a specific issue, but rather a general feeling of unhappiness or dissatisfaction with life that brings you to counseling.
In our work together I will help you to set goals and facilitate plans to gain self awareness, confidence and create meaningful changes which lead to a more balanced life.
*At this time I am not seeing couples or Individuals under 18.
